Dr. Bob Pritchard is the founder of EPF for Teaching.  Dr. Pritchard is a language and literacy specialist who works extensively with teachers and administrators around the county implementing high leverage, research-based, instructional practices associated with improved student learning across content areas. A former classroom teacher and reading specialist, Bob also worked internationally for nine years as an ESL teacher and program specialist.

Dr. Susan O’Hara is Executive Director of Resourcing Excellence in Education at University of California Davis and former professor at Stanford University. She leads a team developing and testing Essential Practice Frames that articulate high leverage practices to meet the learning needs of all students. Susan directs two large federal grants investigating best models for improving outcomes for English Learners and developing Integrated Professional Learning Systems.

Debi Pitta, Vice President of Professional Learning for EPF for teaching, was an elementary and secondary teacher as well as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction where her primary responsibility was to provide professional development for teachers. Debi currently supports the professional learning of teachers and administrators on topics ranging from academic language and literacy development, differentiated instruction, and professional learning communities

EPF and Encompass Event Planners have recently joined together to bring you the most up to date in Essential Teaching Frames for Grades 3-12


Building on this work, Susan, Debi, and Bob collaborate nationally with schools, districts and departments of education implementing practices associated with improved learning outcomes of English learners.Together they have authored more than fifty publications related to English learners, innovative uses of technology, and professional development for teachers.
